Day 3 and 4 of the trip was pretty interesting. We went to the Korea University of arts and saw some nice artworks and also some of their facilities like their various studios and classrooms which were pretty much bigger and somewhat better than the ones we have in singapore. The next destination after that was the Taewool Entertainment which specializes in MMO games. It was interesting to see how they made their graphic engines and animations and models using the tools they have and also having their engine made by russians which showed some teamwork between the 2 countries. They also said that the average time to make a game is at least 4 years for them.
The trip to Seoul animation centre was also interesting and showed us some of the creativity in implementing technology in some bits of our lives like the men's toilet which they replaced the background of the urinal with a screen and a game. They also have programmes for students and kids where they teach them animations including stop motion animation. Next was Hongik university where it showed us how the students there study and work with the facilities built. Some of the classrooms pretty much reminded me of RP.
The next place we visited was the Sangam Digital Media City where they feature the latest in upcoming digital media tech and also their vision of a city with advanced media that can help and make people's lives more easier by implementing various technologies into parts of the city. The technologies they showcased were pretty cool and interesting and hope that some of the tech they showed would be implemented in singapore too.
