Taewool Entertainment

We visited Taewool entertainment in the afternoon after our lunch. The place was not really big but we learned a lot of important things from there. They showed us how several types of monsters can be created based on the same kind of mesh used for the monster. I also learned that we can use the T3 sandbox to create different effects or to add effects onto the game mapitself. For example, the shadow casting of a sun during the midday as compared to the morning.

Set up at KARTS

We also visited KARTS first thing in the morning. In there we learnt about the many things like the different kind of studios and equipments they used in filming their own films. I also learned that the movie "The Host"'s monster were also made in their studio. The winter sonata's scenarios were also written by their student as part of their projects.

KARTS university

Other than that, the university had many other rooms such as the editing room and props studio. The editing room edits images or films that are pre-recorded from the room next to it, from there they edited it directly. The props studio is another interesting place as there are props that are being set up which looks like real life setting. In the tv screen, it looks really real, but in real life when we look at the sets we can further understand what was going on in the sets itself.

DayThree

We visited the Korea National University of ARTS. The university provide wide range of interesting courses that most of the graduates able to excel once they graduated from the university. The school expectation are very high as the locals require 5 years of working experience before they are eligible to enter the university. After lunch, we visited the Taewool Entertainment (which I didn't take any picture there) where they cover about how to create game character and background. Well, the expert did it so fast yet for beginner like me it looks like complicated. They took 4 years to complete one game and definitely it require a lot of patience upon completing the game. Although the presentation was dry, I do enjoy watching the process they took to come up with the game character or background.

3rd day in korea

3rd day, early in the morning went to Korea National University of Arts. The campus there is really nice, big and clean.First we watch a video that is done by their student "worst friend" which i think is done pretty well as in the story flow and the characters making.
Their studio is big and beautiful, with all those crops making it as realistic as a local Korean room.
We went to visit their facilities that is available at there, its really amazing by the equipment that they have. It is well equip by the availability of the equipment for the students studying there.
Token of appreciation for the professor in the k-Arts uni which took us around to visit their facilities.

Next we went to taewool entertainment. They teaches us how to create maps using terrain, create characters and make them move in the game. Its really amazing on how they put everything into one and make it into a spectacular online games and publish it to the public.

Day 3

Today had a wonderful day by visiting K Arts in the morning. We have an view of what their university are like and the difference between Singapore's and Korea's Universities and what are the benefits to choose from either side. But i feel that the K Arts is an very good place to further our studies but provided that we can cope with the expenses.
We then have lunch at one seafood restaurant buffet. But in the end we ate
more beef then seafood. After lunch, we then head to Taewool to visit their company. Then explained and show us how game is made and how can we make changes to them. After hearing that 1 game takes about 4 years to complete, i feel that even if a game is not fun to play but we will need to appreciate the hard work that they put in to creating the game.

** something special for the blog, spot the mistake in the following photos**

wah can spam blog wall sia.

Day 3 - Victor Phua

Korean National University of Arts

The Korean University of Arts is rather well-equipped from what I observed. Students are able to have access to such facilities and make use of them for their animations and works. Because of the professionalism of the University, students are required to have at least a few years of animation work experience or animation history.

Professors typically guide the students on how to structure their projects; whereby the rest are done by the students themselves.

Within this university; there are several schools, namely; music, dance, drama, film, TV & multimedia, visual arts, and traditional arts. (As seen from the opening animation of the KNUA)

Their film, "Worst Friends" is pretty impressive in terms of storyboard and planning. There are a few kinks to it, but its nothing much.

Visit to Taewool Entertainment

I can say that I am quite impressed by the Taewool Entertainment's works of game rendering, as really good. Their T3 sandbox program is indeed an excellent program to render and create/colour various processes in the different areas of animations.

I now know exactly how much is done and hard work is involved in respects to creating a good animation game.

There is indeed quite a lot of things and work done behind the scenes in all types of game animations ! I cant even begin to express properly on what are the things I have learnt today; as a brief summary, I learnt what is done prior to the game (planning), storyboarding, editing, rendering, forming, drawing, final result, and the total animation of everything (which is to say the processes involved in constructing a good game animation).

Korea Study Trip Day 1 & 2 - Parthiban

Day 3 - Rashna :)

Korean National University of ARTS!
--------------------------------------------

Today we visited this university, I found that they offer facilities very remarkable to their students.

Facilities such as Audio Room

Studio for broadcasting

Flim sets(made by students) used for fliming

1 Editing room per student to complete their works/projects!

Cool rite?! Their facilities supports and makes it easier for their students to do their final projects...Moreover they provide scholorships for forgein students in other asian countries.
It was a nice experience to look around such a school :)

TAEWOOL Entertainment
-------------------------------

In TAEWOOl entertainment, they demonstrated they create their models, setting, images in games using MAYA, sandbox.. It looked really complicated, it was amazing to see them show us the various editing that could be done, for example, adding new terrain and decorating textures.
It was shocking to know that they take 4 years or even more to complete the graphics and animations for their games.. WOW! thats alott of hard work!!.

Moreover they presented us posters of their new upcoming games, which was welcoming :)
Thank you TAEWOOL!

KNUA & TAEWOOL - Day 3

Day 3 of Korea Trip :)

KNUA is a famous arts school in Korea. Winter Sonata was produced by two of their students that major in Film Producing. It was a project for them to write up a script. In the end, poof ! Their work got famous !
"The Host" was also produced by K Arts. It was produced by their film crew, professors students, graduates and etc.
K arts have live broadcasting rooms and sets and they produces CF, music videos and commercial for our similar course.

Like RP, everywhere is our setting, and we were given opportunities to work on projects.
We have our DAV labs like they have their labs as well, just that we don't sleep and stay in there 24hours like them.

Animation Room !

Recording Studio

Equipment Loaning Room

The very nice corridor

Broadcasting Room

The set, witness the crime scene !

Next up, Taewool Entertainment !

"What you imagine, what you create"
Taewool Entertainment have a fun and innovative motto. Baiscally what they creates comes from their interest, hobby and passion !

Taewool Entertainment have a really cool software that enable to create their 3D game background. They uses their inhouse software, T3 sandbox.
First, they sketch characters.
Secondly, they add color and details to the character.
Thirdly, materials, special details for concept design is added as well.
Fourth, graphic design and modeling using 3D max.
There's these 3 very important mapping that they have told us.
Specular mapping, normal mapping and defuse map.
Each one of them have their own individual function.

Taewool Entertainment commerialized its first online game "Foundation" in 1994.
1996, Heros, the first online marital game.
Heros 2 , won Digital Content Award.

Thats all for third day, Night World !
