Junhao 3rd day in Korea!

3rd day in Korea
-----------------
Today we get to visit two important places that holds a lot of status in the animation and media industry.
First we have the Korean National University Of Arts. They started since 1993. They also had 6 different schools, which are the school of fine arts, traditonal music, dance, film, drama and modern music. Sadly, they did not have any major in game design. The resources that they had comes from the ministry of culture which proves that the government really takes good care of them, trying to let the korean culture to stay on and improve further.
They had students from all over the world and also local. The students all stay in school and they also practise during their vacation, thus using hardwork they keep improving themself. The local needs at least 5 working years experience before they qualify to get into the universities. Thus, they keep improving themself as it is a very hard university to get into, which they want to make good use of the opportunity given to them. The foreigners who might want to get into the university does not require that much years of working experience. I think they would see more in the talents of the people whether they have the potential to exceed.
Some of the notable achievements by them are the winter sonata which is a script written by 2 female students in the university. Next is the host, which is a move created by the graduatees and also the teachers there. Third are some of the theatre work, as great plays outside normally take inspiration from the drama play in the university.
The interactive and digital media being taught in the University are that they learn in classes, lecture hall and also in setting room, which they learnt the theory and also setting up of the background and ideal surroundings. They also had the chance to go on assignment due to project and make a short film which might make them more familiarise with all the techiniques and equipments.
The difference that they had from us is that they uses a lecture hall to study in and also setting rooms which helps in understanding more about the ideal backdrop that you wanted, instead of using random scenery. They also are the same as us, having project and assignment and also they uses avid system and mac desktops for them to work on too.
I think some of the research areas or projects that they university undertakes are dance, drama, film project and also music play performance, as they major in all these things in the university.
They had many interesting places for the filming school, such as the animation presentation room, animation student room which is an individual desk for each of the students, sound and audio recording studio, broadcasting room, setting room and more...

Secondly, the TAEWOOL Entertainment, it started in 1994, they are also the first Asia martial art online company in the world. Their motto are innovation and fun.
They also invented their own animation equipment and programmes through some other branch in Russia.
Some achievements that they had are the Lord of HeroI/II which is from 1996-2000. Slayers from 1999. Seven Swords online from 2005. Xiah from 2003-2006. I have seen some of their works on the video, they were really good. 3D, and real life images and actions, it was really nice.
I learnt that they had this thing called the T3 sandbox, which really helps alot in their making of MMORPG games. It can help in creating shadow, control materials, attach equipment to characters, change of colour and size for character.
It can also help alot in creating terrain. It can create bumps or smoothen it, adding texture to the bumps or the grounds. You can also decorate the texture, probably changing its colour or to other tecture. Set object easily according to the order of terrain, means you could put a tree (object) to the terrain itself easily, as it will read the bump and rest the object on it.
They also had something related to normal, diffuse and spectacular map.
Thats probably what I learnt from the 2 places today, the outcome was very fruitful to me. I enjoyed it.
